RT-PCR viral testing is used to diagnose active infection; Antibody IgG and IgM testing can help identify antibody response to the virus after infection. Additionally, antibody testing can identify people that were exposed to the virus and may have developed some level of immunity but experienced only mild to no symptoms. Tests are available through Labcorp and Quest with a 24-48-hour turnaround time from lab sample receipt.
